Meet our Leadership

Victory in Jesus Holy Church was founded in February 1987 under the faithful leadership of Elder William Samuel Holmes, IV, and his wife, First Lady Margaret Holmes. Together, they have faithfully led the church for over three decades, guiding the congregation with a shared passion for ministry and a deep love for God.

Our Story

Pastor William Samuel Holmes, IV

Born on February 19, 1955, in Washington, D.C., Pastor Holmes is the eldest of five children of William and Carolissa Holmes. He grew up in the D.C. area, attending public schools before enrolling in a trade school program where he honed skills in painting, carpentry, and bricklaying. Even during this time, God's call on his life was apparent, earning him the nickname “preacher man” among his peers at Project Build, where he graduated with honors.

His spiritual journey took a pivotal turn in July 1973 when, during a visit to Margaret Neal’s home, he found himself at a prayer meeting led by her mother, Mother Jessie Neal. It was there that Pastor Holmes received the gift of the Holy Ghost, and soon after, he was baptized in Jesus’ name at Bible Way Temple.

In 1977, Pastor Holmes married Margaret Neal, and together they have raised six children. Their marriage, which has now spanned over 45 beautiful years, is a testament to their commitment to God, family, and each other.

First Lady Margaret Holmes

Born on July 23, 1958, to Iverson and Jessie Neal, First Lady Margaret Holmes grew up as one of thirteen children in a family rooted in love, faith, and a strong sense of community. Raised in the D.C. area, she attended public schools and later held various office positions before pursuing entrepreneurial ventures. However, her deep commitment to God and calling to ministry ultimately shaped her life’s path.

Her upbringing in a large, faith-filled family nurtured values of true holiness, compassion, and dedication—qualities that have been the cornerstone of her role as First Lady of Victory in Jesus Holy Church. First Lady Holmes is actively involved in the church's outreach programs, offering guidance and support to women, families, and youth. She plays a key role in organizing community events and charitable efforts, where her care for others shines through.

Her influence extends beyond the church walls, fostering a spirit of service and unity that continues to uplift both the congregation and the community.

Victory in Jesus Holy Church: A Legacy of Service

Under the leadership of Pastor Holmes and First Lady Margaret, Victory in Jesus Holy Church has become a beacon of hope and healing in the community. Through their ministry, countless lives have been touched—souls saved, the sick healed, and many baptized and delivered in Jesus' name.

The church’s outreach extends beyond the walls of the sanctuary, with creative ministries such as skits and puppet shows that bring joy and spread God’s message to all ages. One of the most anticipated events each year is the Back to School Slammin’ for Jesus Jamboree, a fun-filled day of games, prizes, and school supplies provided for free to children in the community.

Together, Pastor Holmes and First Lady Margaret Holmes have built a ministry centered on love, service, and the transformative power of faith, continuing to make a lasting impact on all who are blessed to be part of the Victory in Jesus family.
